Trilogía de las Fuentes, San Antonio y la Virgen

En este circuito se visitan:
• Tres vertientes de agua mineral natural con cualidades revitalizantes.
• El templete de San Antonio (santo que siempre ha escuchado a las solteras
cumpliendo milagrosamente sus pedidos).
• La imagen de la virgen en María Rosa Mística, Stella Maris y de los Milagros.
En el Cerro del Toro, a 100 metros sobre el nivel del mar (se puede acceder en auto), está la Fuente del Toro. Se trata de una escultura hecha en París por un discípulo de Rodin, en la cual brota una vertiente de agua fresca, siendo el momento oportuno para saciar la sed. Al descender por la misma calle, a la izquierda se encuentra la segunda fuente: la Fuente de Venus, réplica de la estatua original que se encuentra en Villa Paravicini, Italia.
Tomando Avenida De Mayo, a la izquierda se llega a ermita de María Rosa Mística.
De allí se llega al Cerro San Antonio, donde a 500 metros de distancia y a 70 metros de altura se encuentra la Virgen Stella Maris, también llamada “de los pescadores”, lugar donde Piria colocó la piedra fundacional de la ciudad.
En la cartografía, este lugar se llama Punta Imán ya que causa alteraciones en
el norte magnético y las brújulas enloquecen. Descendiendo por la escalinata de granito, a mitad de camino está la tercera de las fuentes de agua mineral: la Gruta de los Patos. Continuando el ascenso hasta la cima, está ubicado el Templete de San Antonio.
Consejo: tómese tiempo para disfrutar de la vista hacia los cuatro puntos cardinales, algunos dicen que es la mejor vista diurna y nocturna de Piriápolis, y sin dudas la más fotografiada.
Al descender tomamos la Rambla hacia el sol poniente hasta Playa Verde. Allí encontraremos sobre la ruta una pequeña capillita de techo amarillo, en la que se encuentra la Virgen de los Milagros.
Total del recorrido 13 kms.
Apto para efectuarlo por completo en auto, en horas del día hasta el atardecer, sin restricción de edad.

On Cerro del Toro, 100 m. Over the sea level (you can drive to get there) it appears the Fuente del Toro, a sculpture of a bull made in Paris by a disciple of Rodin, which has a flowing of fresh clean water running out of his mouth.
On the way down, along the same street on the left, you will see the second fountain: Fuente de Venus, which is an exact replica of the original statue situated in Villa Paraviccini, Italy.
Taking Avenida de Mayo, to the left, you will get to the hermitage of Maria Rosa Mística. From there you will get to San Antonio Hill, where at 500 m. far and 70 m. high you will see the Virgin Stella Maris, also known as the Fishermen Virgin, where Piria placed the foundation stone of the city. This place is called Punta Iman on the cartography, since it causes alterations in the magnetic North and compasses get crazy here.
Coming down the granite steps, at about the half-way point, it appears the third mineral water fountain: Gruta de los Patos.
To find the San Antonio shrine, you have to go all the way up to the top. Advice: take your time to enjoy the outstanding view toward the four cardinal
points. It is believed to be the best day and night view of Piriapolis and the most photographed.
On the way down, taking the Rambla toward the west, keep going up to Playa Verde, where you will find a little yellow-roofed chapel that helds the Virgin of Miracles.
Total distance of the ride: 13km. It is advisable to make this ride by car, with
daylight until the sunset and with no age restriction.
